The audience YouTube will not show you, and how to buy responsibly anyway

No public tool can tell you the age or state of someone else's viewers. Here is what you can do instead.

Will this reach 25 to 34 year olds in Bihar? It is the right question, and YouTube’s public data cannot answer it.

What is not public

A channel’s owner sees viewer age, gender and location in their own analytics. Nobody else does. A tool that shows a confident age split for a channel it does not own is guessing.

What StatAxis does

It does not guess. When a channel or a named study supplies an audience, StatAxis stores it with the source and the date: age bands, gender, states. Every other channel says plainly: audience not known.

Where we know, we show the source. Where we do not, we say so.

In a plan

Choose a target in the planner: age groups, states, a gender. For each channel with a profile, StatAxis finds the share inside your target and applies it to the average audience. That is the matched audience, priced per 1,000 matched viewers. Channels without a profile are listed as no audience data and kept out of the budget split.

Age, state and gender are supplied separately, so a combined target treats them as independent. That is an approximation, and it is labelled as one.

The verified audience programme

Run a channel? Share your split, in percentages and never individual viewers. We publish it with the source and date; you can update or withdraw it at any time.

The rule

Buy against an audience whose source you can name.

See it on your own question.

Tell us the audience, the channels and the date.
